About the position

The Regulatory Risk Manager will lead the development and scaling of proactive, data-driven regulatory risk programs designed to navigate complex legal and compliance landscapes across multiple markets. This role requires identifying emerging regulatory risks, assessing business impact, and designing practical mitigation strategies to ensure the Customer Experience Group remains compliant and resilient. You will serve as a critical bridge between regulatory developments and business decisions, translating fragmented signals into clear priorities and governance. The position demands a strategic operator who can balance structured analysis with executive communication and day-to-day program execution in a fast-paced environment.

You will partner closely with Legal, PR, Supply, and other internal business teams to drive cross-functional execution and manage government complaints. The role involves building and operating a regulatory risk management framework that identifies, assesses, and tracks risks across geographies. By incorporating regulatory findings into risk controls and escalation governance, you will help reduce operational noise and build a proactive foundation for country-level risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement controls, governance mechanisms, escalation thresholds, and response playbooks to reduce regulatory exposure
  • Build and operate a regulatory risk management framework that identifies, assesses, prioritizes, and tracks regulatory risks across markets
  • Translate external regulatory developments into clear business implications, risk scenarios, and recommended actions
  • Incorporate regulatory findings and enforcement outcomes into risk controls and escalation governance
  • Oversee delivery of the CEG risk framework to ensure timely and accurate signals
  • Manage government complaints, intake, and closure to ensure investigations and remediation are completed within agreed timeframes
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, reducing noise, and streamlining workflows
  • Lead cross-functional remediation and regulatory response initiatives and act as the primary point of contact when regulators engage
  • Create cost models and business impact assessments for regulatory scenarios and mitigation options
  • Advise senior leaders on risk appetite, mitigation priorities, and strategic responses
  • Develop metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting to measure program effectiveness and control health

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in managing operational responsibilities, program management, or regulatory risk management
  • Proven ability to lead complex regulatory projects in fast-paced, high-growth, or highly regulated environments
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with a knack for identifying process improvement opportunities using a data-driven approach
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and resilience under ambiguity in dynamic and multicultural environments
  • Proven ability to independently manage a diverse stakeholder landscape, including senior leadership
  • Experience working across multiple countries or regions with differing legal and regulatory requirements
  • Strong program management skills with demonstrated ability to drive outcomes across matrixed organizations
  • Excellent executive communication skills to convey complex risk information clearly to leadership

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies for managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Program management certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, COPC, or equivalent
  • Experience in the travel industry and knowledge of online travel platforms
  • Experience with predictive analytics and AI-driven tools
