About the position

MakroPRO, the digital venture by Makro (CP Axtra), is hiring a DevOps Engineer in Bangkok to support its B2B e-commerce platform serving restaurants, hotels, and retailers. The role focuses on increasing delivery speed, improving code quality and security, and optimizing developer experience through automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code across multiple cloud providers.

The engineer will collaborate with Tech Leads and developers to build automation pipelines, develop self-serve tools for the SDLC, configure IaaS/PaaS infrastructure, deploy application artifacts, monitor infrastructure health, and identify process bottlenecks. Candidates need scripting skills (Python, Bash, Perl), experience with large-scale cloud-based container platforms, deployment automation tools (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible), AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools (GitlabCI, Jenkins, Git, Sonar), and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

Works closely with Tech Leads and developers of various teams to develop automation pipelines and CI/CD

Develops self-serve tools/artefacts to development teams to support the SDLC (e.g. containerized dev env, testing env etc.)

Configures the infrastructure using IaaS/PaaS products and own developed tools

Actively participates in deploying application artifacts to appropriate target environments using the supported technologies and infrastructure

Identifies bottlenecks in development and deployment processes and designs automation solutions to mitigate

Requirements

Excellent scripting skills (e.g. Python, Bash, Perl)

Experienced with building and maintaining large scale, cloud-based container-based platforms (in IaaS and PaaS)

Working knowledge of deployment automation solutions (i.e. Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)

Experienced AWS platform (certification is a plus)

Experienced with containers and Kubernetes

Nice to have

AWS certification; experience as a DevOps or SRE Engineer on a cross-functional agile team; familiarity with security automation tools such as static application security testing
