Home Care Global Engineering Lead

This role serves as a strategic engineering leader for the Home Care category, driving technical initiatives across the Asia region. You will oversee the planning and execution of capital projects, ensuring they meet strict timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The position requires deep technical expertise in process design and machine selection, acting as the primary resource for factory engineering teams. You will also lead the integration of global innovations and best engineering practices into local operations.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D and cluster planning, to support innovation projects and drive capital efficiency. This involves identifying opportunities for productivity improvements and managing the transition of new technologies from concept to execution. The role demands a strong ability to influence stakeholders and foster an inclusive environment to achieve high performance and professional growth.

• Lead and drive engineering initiatives by influencing factory teams to ensure high performance and professional growth
• Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with company goals and objectives
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects across the Asia region
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project integration
• Support factories in building the Masterplan and defining the best-fit technology for the future
• Develop and deploy technology frameworks for assigned factories and act as the single point of resource for technology selection
• Support Concept & FEED engineering stages to define technical solutions, with higher support for newer or higher-risk technologies
• Identify opportunities for improving capital efficiency through new technology development, vendor qualification, and asset productivity increases
• Support category savings and quality improvement projects by working closely with R&D
• Partner with cluster planning to define technology solutions for innovation projects and ensure smooth transition to execution
• Ensure best engineering practices and designs are implemented across the cluster
• Act as the single point of contact for the Global Engineering team for technology transfer and global innovations
• Lead the early phase definition and development of strategic projects from the business brief stage

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Operational Management or Project Engineering, with experience delivering projects in the FMCG industry
• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role
• Self-driven with a strong drive to learn and high intensity to deliver targets
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills to collaborate and drive others
• Proven track record of managing engineering projects and delivering successful outcomes through influence and collaboration
• Significant Project/Design Management experience
• Deep knowledge and experience of designated Category Technologies
• First-hand experience with design or delivery of capital projects within Unilever or a similar FMCG environment
• Fully operational knowledge of Core Designs, hygiene, and safety requirements for at least a few Foods process technologies
• Strong technical knowledge in a specific engineering discipline
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Willingness to travel within the Asia region as required
