Engineering Lead, Home Care - Unilever

This role serves as the primary engineering leader for the Home Care category, driving strategic initiatives across the Asia region. You will oversee the planning and execution of capital projects, ensuring they meet strict timelines and quality standards while optimizing capital efficiency. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including R&D and cluster planning, to support innovation projects and implement best engineering practices.

You will act as the central technical resource for factory engineering teams, guiding technology selection and supporting the development of Masterplans. This involves defining technical solutions for Concept and FEED stages, managing the rollout of new technologies, and representing the cluster in global engineering networks. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for productivity improvements and ensuring the seamless transfer of global innovations to local operations.

• Lead and drive engineering initiatives by influencing factory teams to ensure high performance and professional growth
• Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with company goals and objectives
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects across the Asia region
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Support factories in building Masterplans and defining the best-fit technology for the future
• Develop and deploy technology frameworks for assigned factories
• Support Concept & FEED engineering stages to define technical solutions
• Identify opportunities for improving capital efficiency through new technologies and productivity enhancements
• Support category savings and quality improvement projects by collaborating with R&D
• Partner with cluster planning to define technology solutions for innovation projects
• Ensure best engineering practices and designs are implemented across the cluster
• Act as the single point of contact for the Global Engineering team regarding technology transfer
• Lead the early phase definition and development of strategic projects

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Operational Management or Project Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role
• Experience delivering projects in the FMCG industry
• Strong communication skills in English to collaborate and drive others
• Familiarity with Foods core processing technology, core packing technology, and factory operation
• Proven track record of managing engineering projects through influence and collaboration
• Significant Project/Design Management experience
• Deep knowledge of designated Category Technologies
• First-hand experience with design or delivery of capital projects in Unilever or similar FMCG environment
• Operational knowledge of Core Designs and hygiene & safety requirements
• Strong technical knowledge in a specific engineering discipline

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Willingness to travel within the Asia region as required
