The role designs, builds, and operates Go-based platform software on Kubernetes for Agoda's Fleet Services platform. The engineer will own platform components through delivery and production, including controllers, automation, and GitOps, while collaborating with InfraOps and platform users to make changes safe and easy to use. At senior level, the position includes leading component design, mentoring engineers, and carrying production ownership without day-to-day direction.
The successful candidate needs production software engineering experience, Go or a similar systems language, practical Kubernetes experience, Linux, testing practices, and observability knowledge across metrics, logs, and alerts. Clear written and spoken English is required, including for design notes, reviews, and cross-team discussions. Experience with coding agents is also requested or the ability to adopt that workflow quickly.
• Design, build, and operate platform software in Go on Kubernetes
• Own platform components through delivery and production, including controllers, automation, and GitOps
• Collaborate with InfraOps and platform teams to ensure safe, usable changes
• Lead component design and mentor engineers at Senior level
• Carry production ownership without day-to-day direction
• Production software engineering experience
• Go or a similar systems language
• Practical Kubernetes experience with workloads, APIs, and failure behavior
• Linux experience and a habit of testing shipped software
• Observability knowledge using metrics, logs, and alerts
• Clear written and spoken English
• Comfort using coding agents or ability to adopt the workflow quickly
Kubernetes controller, operator, or CRD experience; Cluster API, ArgoCD, or other GitOps tools; networking, DNS, certificates, or load balancing; open-source operator or controller contributions; infrastructure CI/CD; experience working across teams in a large engineering organization.
