Agoda is hiring a Back-end Engineering intern for its Bangkok office as part of the Cooperative Internship 2027 program, with internship periods of January–May 2027 or August–December 2027. The intern will contribute to scalable, fault-tolerant systems and APIs that host core business logic, working with languages such as Scala and C#, data technologies like Kafka and Spark, and modern CI/CD and testing practices. Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with familiarity in object-oriented and/or functional programming, relational and/or non-relational databases, and good English communication skills.
Contribute to a top-notch codebase and work on scalable, fault-tolerant systems and APIs that serve millions of requests
Use state-of-the-art languages like Scala and C#, data technologies like Kafka and Spark, and agile development practices
Employ state-of-the-art CI/CD and testing techniques to ensure systems work without downtime
Think about the full life cycle of products, from product requirements and technology selection to coding standards, agile development, testing, deployment and monitoring
Studying for a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or any related field
Familiar with basics of Object-oriented and/or Functional programming
Familiar with relational and/or non-relational databases
Good English communication skill
Ready to learn fast
Practical knowledge with Scala, C# or Java
Experience building back-end applications and services with basics of system scaling
Familiarity with data platforms like MS SQL, Cassandra or Hadoop
Core engineering infrastructure tools like Git, TeamCity, and Puppet
