About the position
Agoda's Infrastructure Platform Development team in Bangkok is seeking a Software Development Intern for Summer 2027 (24 May – 30 July 2027). The team builds and maintains the foundational infrastructure layer powering Agoda's services, running on over 25,000 server instances and hundreds of Kubernetes clusters, including one of the largest OpenStack private clouds in Asia.
The intern will design, develop and implement ideas to enhance Agoda's self-built infrastructure management system, work on scaling, reliability and automation challenges, and interact with technologies such as OpenStack, Kubernetes and OpenTelemetry. Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related fields, with programming experience in Go or Python, basic Git and Docker knowledge, and comfort with Linux command line and Bash scripting.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and implement ideas to contribute to Agoda's infrastructure platform, including enhancing the self-built infrastructure management system
Work on scaling, reliability and automation challenges unique to the modern platform infrastructure
Interact with OpenStack, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry and other industry-leading tools to build and optimize infrastructure
Investigate and troubleshoot performance issues across core infrastructure components while driving performance tuning and optimization
Requirements
Currently studying for a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related fields
Excellent collaboration and communication skills; working language is English
Some years of programming experience at university level in a modern programming language, preferably Go or Python
Basic knowledge of development ecosystems like Git and Docker
Comfortable working in the Linux command line environment including Bash scripting
Nice to have
Experience with CI/CD systems (GitLab or GitHub Actions) and configuration-as-code pipelines
Experience managing and optimizing Kubernetes clusters, OpenStack environments or other virtualization platforms
Advanced Docker knowledge including Dockerfiles, multi-stage builds and container troubleshooting
Knowledge of physical architecture at scale, including resilient, highly available and fault-tolerant systems
