About the position
Thai Union Group PCL is hiring a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer at Deputy Department Manager level, based at the SM Tower corporate office in Bangkok. The role focuses on building scalable data models and orchestrating modern BI solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), delivering insights through Power BI and complementary tools such as Looker. The position partners with business users, data engineers, and data scientists to enable enterprise-wide analytics, governance, and self-service reporting.
The role requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field and 10+ years of experience in BI, data engineering, or analytics. Candidates must have deep expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, RLS, Premium workspaces) and advanced proficiency in Google BigQuery, including SQL optimization and performance tuning. Preferred skills include Python, SQL, dbt, Git, JIRA, Agile, CI/CD, and relevant certifications such as Google Professional Data Engineer or Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
Responsibilities
Partner with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical BI specifications
Design and maintain scalable data marts, star/snowflake schemas, and semantic models in BigQuery
Build interactive Power BI dashboards with DAX, RLS, and Dataflows; leverage Looker/Looker Studio as needed
Integrate with Google Cloud Data Catalog to maintain data definitions, glossaries, and lineage
Automate recurring reporting using Power BI Service, BigQuery Scheduled Queries, and Cloud Composer; enforce governance, security, and compliance (PDPA, GDPR)
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related discipline
10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics
Deep expertise in Power BI including DAX, Power Query (M), RLS, and Premium workspace administration
Advanced proficiency in Google BigQuery including SQL optimization, partitioning, clustering, and performance tuning
Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data pipelines, governance, and cataloging
Nice to have
Experience with GCP BI tools (Looker, Looker Studio)
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and scripting for automation and data wrangling
Experience with dbt and version-controlled development
Familiarity with Git, JIRA, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD in a data context
Certifications: Google Professional Data Engineer, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Looker LookML Developer
