Database administrator role at Kiatnakin Phatra Bank in Bangkok, within the Digital & Technology function. Responsibilities include installation, upgrades and configuration of databases; designing schemas, stored procedures and backup/recovery strategies; maintaining database security and integrity; performing performance tuning and capacity planning; setting up monitoring and alerting; and supporting day-to-day operations, incidents and changes while assisting junior team members on complex database tasks.
The position requires at least 5 years of Database Administration experience with extensive knowledge of Oracle RDBMS (including RAC and Data Guard) and MS SQL Server. Candidates must have UNIX and Windows batch scripting skills and be available for on-call/on-site 24x7 support. Knowledge of MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, Azure Data Lake, ETL tools, and automation frameworks is advantageous.
Installation, Upgrades, Migrations and Configuration of databases.
Design and build databases, schemas, stored procedures and other database objects; define backup/recovery strategy aligned with application requirements.
Maintain database security and integrity per policy and governance; set up backups and disaster recovery procedures.
Perform database performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring and alerting.
Support day-to-day operations, incidents and changes; assist developers and end-users; mentor junior DBAs; advanced tasks including replication, migration and data distribution.
5+ years of experience in Database Administration and related DB software tools management.
Extensive knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, RAC and Data Guard.
Extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server.
UNIX and Windows batch scripting knowledge is mandatory.
Willingness for on-call/on-site requirements to ensure 24x7 support of database operations.
Knowledge of MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL; experience with Azure Data Lake and cloud RDS environments; ETL tools (IBM DataStage, MS SSIS); Data Warehouse and Big Data design and tuning; NoSQL (MongoDB), GraphQL (DGraph), Elastic; in-memory database (Redis); automation frameworks (Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Git); banking and financial knowledge; ITIL Foundation; coaching skill.
