About the position

Agoda is hiring an Employee Relations Senior Consultant to join the Global Employee Relations team within People and Organization Development. The role acts as a senior individual contributor and escalation/advisory partner to ER Services, HR Business Partners, and leaders, focusing on complex or precedent-setting employee relations, employment policy, workplace risk, and industrial relations across global operations rather than routine case management.

The consultant strengthens ER governance, quality assurance, policy and process design, risk insight, and organizational capability, partnering with Legal, Compliance, People Analytics, and local ER/HRBP teams. Candidates need at least 8 years of relevant ER/Labor Relations/policy/HRBP experience in large complex organizations, strong employment law and dispute resolution knowledge, fluency in English, and a degree in HR, Law, Industrial Relations, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide Senior ER Consultation as subject-matter expert on complex, sensitive, novel, or precedent-setting employee relations matters.

Interpret employment legislation and company policies into scalable guidance for consistent decision-making.

Define and maintain minimum standards, decision frameworks, escalation criteria, playbooks, and governance practices for ER.

Conduct thematic, sample-based, or targeted quality assurance reviews of ER practices and higher-risk matters.

Advise HR partners and leaders on restructures, collective matters, significant employment decisions, policy exceptions, union engagement, and dispute resolution, while monitoring risk and improving policy and process.

Requirements

Minimum 8 years of ER/Labor/Industrial Relations, employment policy, HR risk, or HRBP experience in large complex organizations.

Demonstrated experience advising on complex, sensitive, or precedent-setting ER matters without direct operational ownership.

Strong working knowledge of employment legislation, ER, workplace dispute resolution, and industrial relations practices.

Experience developing, interpreting, or governing employment policies, decision frameworks, controls, playbooks, or assurance processes.

Degree in Human Resource Management, Law, Industrial Relations, or related discipline, or equivalent experience; fluency in written and spoken English.

Nice to have

Experience working across multiple jurisdictions, cultures, or business models.

Experience supporting union engagement, collective consultation, bargaining preparation, or industrial dispute resolution.

Experience with ER quality assurance, audits, compliance reviews, or risk and control frameworks.

Curiosity and confidence to challenge established practices constructively, with strong ownership, attention to detail, humility, and flexibility.
