About the position
Sertis, a Bangkok-based data and AI engineering company, is hiring a Data Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience building and supporting data pipelines for real-world projects. Working alongside experienced data engineers, the intern will collect, transform, and organize data from different sources and learn how reliable data systems support analytics and AI solutions.
Key duties include implementing ETL processes, selecting and integrating big data tools, monitoring performance, and solving business challenges using large structured and unstructured data. Candidates should be studying a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with knowledge of SQL and Python, basic Docker/containerization and big data technology exposure, and good communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Manipulate data from different sources
- Select and integrate Big Data tools and frameworks to provide requested capabilities
- Implement ETL processes
- Monitor performance and advise necessary infrastructure changes
- Work within a team supporting software and data system development, training, and integration and test infrastructure
Requirements
- Currently studying for a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields
- Knowledge of SQL database maintenance and Python
- Basic knowledge of containerization technologies and Docker
- Basic knowledge of big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Hive
- Good communication skills; able to work independently or in a team
Nice to have
Interest in public cloud technologies; ability to quickly learn new technologies; hands-on exposure to containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
