Agoda is offering a Summer Internship 2027 based in Bangkok, Thailand, within the Technology department, running from 24th May to 30th July 2027. The intern will support the database infrastructure team that manages over 1,000 database servers with millisecond response times and high uptime for MSSQL Server Databases.
The role involves assisting with database design, development, and management, building Docker images for product development teams, developing and optimizing SQL code, supporting migration and re-architecture of production databases, monitoring production databases for anomalies, and researching automation tools to reduce manual effort. Candidates must be pursuing a B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Build database Docker images in different engines for developer use
Develop database SQL code with quality and performance optimization
Setup, migrate and re-architect Agoda production database to support business growth
Proactive monitoring to detect unusual behavior on production database and coordinate with Engineering team to optimize query performance
Research and implement automation tools to reduce manual effort on installation, upgrades, deployment, and anomaly detection
B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field
Understand database design concepts, ER diagrams, and ability to write SQL queries
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with relational and/or non-relational databases
Excellent English written and verbal communication
Knowledge of database high availability or query performance tuning
Practical knowledge of database management, Windows, PowerShell, Linux and shell scripting
Proficiency in Python
