AI Engineer

Makro PRO, the digital B2B e-commerce venture of Makro in Thailand, is hiring an AI Engineer to build production-grade machine learning systems that improve search and recommendation experiences for its platform users. The role involves researching and developing deep learning models, building Thai language NLP solutions, training models on GPU infrastructure, integrating models into Python and Node.js backends via REST APIs, and deploying scalable ML pipelines in collaboration with data and backend engineers.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field, with proven experience as an ML, Deep Learning, or Applied ML Engineer, ideally in search, ranking, or recommendation systems. Required skills include Python, SQL, TensorFlow or PyTorch, knowledge of CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, Siamese networks, XGBoost, and Learning to Rank, plus backend experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Node.js, and familiarity with Git, AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

Read, interpret, and replicate academic and applied research papers to develop ML and deep learning models

Apply and fine-tune deep learning architectures including CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, and Siamese networks for search and recommendation systems

Develop NLP models tailored for the Thai language, addressing tokenization, fuzziness, and non-space segmentation challenges

Design, train, and optimize deep learning models using TensorFlow or PyTorch with GPU infrastructure

Integrate ML and deep learning models into production systems via Python and JavaScript (Node.js) backends with REST APIs

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field

Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Deep Learning Engineer, or Applied ML Developer

Prior experience in search, ranking, or recommendation systems is highly preferred

Strong programming proficiency in Python and SQL

Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras and backend experience in FastAPI, Flask, or Node.js
