3M is hiring an Application Engineer for its Electrical Markets business in Bangkok, Thailand. The role leads technical programs that drive application development and product innovation for medium and high voltage cable accessories, working with customers, sales teams, and global experts to identify opportunities, validate solutions, and strengthen 3M's market position.
Responsibilities include developing new product applications through customer engagement and field trials, providing technical support and marketing to utilities and industrial customers, conducting failure analysis on joints and terminations, coordinating type testing with external labs, supporting new product introductions, and delivering training. Candidates need a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, at least 5 years in power engineering (MV/HV cable accessories preferred), hands-on installation/testing experience, and willingness to travel.
Identify and develop new product applications through customer engagement, technical presentations, and field trials
Lead application development and product improvement initiatives for medium and high voltage cable accessories
Provide technical support and technical marketing to utilities and industrial customers
Plan and execute field trials, pre-qualification, and product validation with key accounts
Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations on joints and terminations
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in power engineering; MV/HV cable accessories experience preferred
Strong knowledge of power distribution and transmission systems (cables, switchgear, transformers)
Hands-on experience with installation, testing, or troubleshooting of cable accessories
Valid driving license and willingness to travel for field work
MV/HV cable accessories experience; strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills; self-driven and able to lead technical initiatives independently
