CP Axtra (Makro) is hiring an AI Product Engineer within its Wholesale Technology Strategy team in Bangkok. The role is a hybrid of Product Owner, Project Manager, Business Analyst, and Software Engineer, delivering technology and AI solutions from business requirements through live implementation.
Duties include gathering requirements and translating them into solution designs, user stories, and delivery plans; developing internal applications, dashboards, automations, and prototypes; writing and troubleshooting code including APIs, database queries, integrations, and front-end or back-end components; using AI tools to accelerate development; owning end-to-end delivery including UAT, training, and go-live; managing project plans and stakeholders; and tracking adoption, KPIs, and business benefits. Candidates need a relevant bachelor's degree, hands-on skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or SQL, AI-assisted development ability, and bilingual Thai/English communication. Onsite work at Makro Head Office is required.
Gather requirements from business users and translate them into solution designs, user stories, and delivery plans
Design, develop, test and deploy internal applications, dashboards, automations, workflows and rapid prototypes
Write, troubleshoot and improve code including APIs, database queries, integrations and front-end or back-end components
Use AI tools to accelerate coding, prototyping, testing and documentation while ensuring quality and security
Own end-to-end delivery: requirement gathering, development, UAT, user training, go-live, and post-launch improvements
Manage project plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, stakeholder updates, and action follow-up
Track user adoption, KPIs, and business benefits of implemented solutions
Support Technology Strategy portfolio tracking, executive updates, and urgent strategic initiatives
Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
Strong hands-on development skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, SQL, or similar technologies
Experience developing web applications, automations, dashboards, APIs, databases, or system integrations
Strong ability to use AI-assisted development tools for coding and rapid solution development
Good requirement-gathering, UAT, project management, and stakeholder management skills
Able to communicate clearly with non-technical users in Thai and English
Strong ownership mindset, problem-solving ability, and willingness to work across multiple roles
Able and willing to work onsite at Makro Head Office
Experience with GenAI, LLM applications, AI agents or workflow automation; retail, commercial, store operations, supply chain or e-commerce experience; experience working with vendors and cross-functional delivery teams.
