About the position
This role is based at SCG Packaging Public Company Limited (SCGP) in Bang Sue, Bangkok, supporting the packaging and manufacturing business. The Data Scientist will research and evaluate emerging Computer Vision, Image Processing, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning technologies, then develop prototypes and PoC solutions to validate feasibility and business value.
Key responsibilities include building and validating CV models for defect detection, object detection, classification, segmentation, and anomaly detection; preparing and managing image datasets; and supporting deployment of models into manufacturing workflows, including edge inference and monitoring. The role collaborates closely with production, quality, IT, and business teams.
Responsibilities
Research and evaluate emerging Computer Vision, Image Processing, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning technologies
Collaborate with SCGP business units and plant teams to identify and define computer vision use cases
Develop prototypes and conduct Proof-of-Concept (PoC) studies to assess technical feasibility and business value
Develop and validate computer vision models for defect detection, object detection, classification, segmentation, and anomaly detection
Support deployment and integration of computer vision models into manufacturing workflows, including edge inference and model monitoring
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Science, or related field (Bachelor GPA > 2.70, Master GPA > 3.30)
1-3 years of relevant experience in Data Science, Computer Vision, Image Processing, Machine Learning, or related fields
Strong knowledge of Image Processing and Computer Vision techniques
Knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning including CNNs and Vision Transformers
Proficiency in Python with OpenCV, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow; English TOEIC > 550; willing to work onsite in Bang Sue, Bangkok
Nice to have
Knowledge of deployment, MLOps, and version control
