Lead Project Manager - Thoughtworks

The Lead Project Manager leads project workstreams to create an environment of trust for autonomous teams. They are accountable for release plans, iteration planning, tracking, reporting, delivery scope, prioritization, estimates, risks, and financials. The role involves orchestrating the design and build of complex business applications, proposing delivery roadmaps aligned with client strategies, and managing organizational structures and politics. The position requires experience managing enterprise projects with end-to-end responsibility, comfort with release planning and financials, and an understanding of software development approaches. Candidates must be resilient in ambiguous situations, act as coaches and mentors, and have a proven track record of encouraging professional development.

Lead one or more project workstreams and create an environment of trust that enables autonomous teams to work effectively and collaboratively

Create and maintain release plans for iterative and incremental delivery of value and be accountable for iteration planning, tracking, reporting, delivery scope, prioritization, estimates, risks and financials

Bring innovative and fresh ideas to project management, pushing the boundaries of how project managers can deliver exceptional business value

Orchestrate the design and build of critical and complex custom-designed, multi-tier, business applications

Propose and deliver a delivery roadmap and plans that support the client's business strategies and objectives

Ensure that the delivered value is explicit and well understood by the client and the Thoughtworks teams

Set up project processes in line with agile best practices and ensure their sustainability

Navigate organizational structures and politics effectively to drive expected outcomes and develop/foster authentic client relationships

Amenple experience managing enterprise projects with end-to-end responsibility of project delivery

Comfortable with release planning, estimation, capacity planning, proposal building, contract negotiation and managing project financials

Understanding of various software development approaches (traditional, agile, etc.) and ability to consult clients on the best approaches applicable to their scenarios

Belief in the power of a flat hierarchy and enjoy facilitating and organizing sessions to promote collaboration

Recent experience working with distributed or co-located teams

Resilient in ambiguous situations and can adapt your role to approach challenges from multiple perspectives

Seen as a coach and mentor, taking the time to motivate others and influence teammates to take positive action and accountability

Proven leader with a track record of encouraging teammates in their professional development and relationships
