Staff Software Engineer - Back End: Fast track 1-Day Program - Agoda

Agoda's Platform team seeks a Staff Software Engineer to build mission-critical systems serving millions of users. The role involves designing and maintaining platforms and data pipelines, boosting system performance, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. Candidates will own the full product lifecycle, from business requirements to CI/CD and monitoring. The position requires 8+ years of experience with performance-critical applications in Scala, Java, or Kotlin, strong RDBMS knowledge, and the ability to direct significant company-wide projects.

Design, develop, and maintain platforms and data pipelines

Boost system performance by building stable, scalable, and highly performant systems

Write great code and mentor people in the team and wider

Foster cross-functional collaboration with diverse teams

8+ years of experience developing performance-critical applications in a production environment using Scala, Java, Kotlin or relevant modern programming languages

Strong RDBMS knowledge (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or other)

Ability to direct significant company-wide projects and sets technical vision

Good command of the English language

Deeply involved in making architectural decisions, setting the standard and direction for the team

Implement advanced CI/CD pipelines and robust testing strategies

Knowledge in NoSQL, Queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, MSMQ)
