Korean Language Expert

Join Agoda's international team in Bangkok to lead localization efforts for Korean-speaking markets. You will oversee the quality of translated content across all customer-facing channels, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance. This role involves managing translation vendors, maintaining localization assets, and collaborating with internal teams to meet strict deadlines. You will also play a key role in improving AI prompt engineering to enhance translation output and drive user engagement.

As a Language Expert, you will provide critical linguistic guidance and support research initiatives to optimize content performance. You will lead arbitration reviews to maintain high quality standards and mentor other team members. • Monitor and ensure the quality of translated content across all customer-facing channels, including site updates, hotel content, and marketing materials
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and external vendors to meet strict deadlines and quality expectations
• Maintain and update localization assets such as style guides, glossaries, and translation memories
• Conduct product reviews to identify inconsistencies and localization issues
• Lead arbitration reviews and escalate recurring problems to maintain an LQA score above 90%
• Evaluate, onboard, and manage translation vendors and freelancers, including the invoicing process
• Improve AI prompt engineering to generate better translation output for Korean markets
• Support research and content experimentation to improve content performance and user engagement
• Provide cultural and linguistic guidance for the Korean markets
• Promote localization best practices by participating in translation quality audits and benchmarking activities

• Native-level fluency in Korean with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Translation, Korean Language, Literature, or a related field
• Proven experience in translation and localization within a professional setting
• Strong proficiency in English with the ability to adapt source content naturally for Korean audiences
• Excellent internet research skills to verify terminology and cultural nuances
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience in the travel, hospitality, or e-commerce industry is an advantage
