About the position

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations and the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, focusing on providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. You will ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life while maintaining an energy management program to ensure efficient operations.

You will perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems. The position requires compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety. You will also review inspections to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and achieves the environmental conditions prescribed by the client.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety
  • Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate efficiently
  • Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program
  • Perform emergency repairs as needed
  • Review inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of job disciplines within the function

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 4-5 years of job-related experience
  • Universal CFC certification is preferred
  • Ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Sophisticated math skills for calculating percentages, fractions, and financial-related calculations
