Data Platform Engineer - Lineman Wongnai

LINE MAN Wongnai is Thailand's leading provider of On-Demand Services, Merchant Digital Solutions, and Payment and Financial Services. We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to design and manage scalable data platforms that support our product engineering teams and data scientists. This role involves expanding our data infrastructure to handle intensive data workloads and improving the daily lives of millions of users across Thailand. You will work in a fast-paced environment to build fault-tolerant, self-healing data processing applications and optimize end-to-end data pipelines.

As a Data Platform Engineer, you will define architecture patterns to ensure platform scalability and reliability. You will manage continuous deployment and monitoring for data streaming platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business value. This position requires a strong software engineering background and the ability to work with distributed computing technologies to support our journey to becoming the No.1 delivery platform in Thailand.

• Define, implement, and enforce architecture patterns and design principles to ensure platform scalability, high performance, reliability, and usability.
• Build fault-tolerant, self-healing, adaptive, and highly accurate data computational and analytic processing applications.
• Develop data models and architecture for end-to-end data pipelines, including both streaming and batch processing.
• Optimize and scale the data platform product across multiple teams within the organization.
• Enable and support data engineers to optimize and improve ETL processes by providing monitoring and tracking systems.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, product managers, and software engineers, to drive value for customers and business partners.
• Manage continuous deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the data streaming platform in production and testing environments.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
• 1+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java.
• Strong software engineering skills, including Data Structures and Algorithms and System Design.
• Experience with distributed computing technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Spark, Hive, HDFS, Presto, and Druid/Imply.
• Experience with data infrastructure components, including Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, monitoring, system logging, and a strong SRE mindset.
• Proficient in English and Thai language skills.
• Based in or close to Thailand, or willing to relocate.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data services.
• Experience with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Experience with real-time analytics and event-driven architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
