Automation Systems Engineer - Shopee

Lead the mechanical design of high-speed sortation machines and conveyor systems to meet operational throughput and safety standards. Review technical drawings and specifications while acting as the primary technical contact for external vendors. Prepare detailed technical specifications for RFPs and oversee Factory Acceptance Testing to ensure machinery performance benchmarks are met. Drive project schedules from inception to handover, supervising on-site installation and leading Test & Commissioning phases to resolve mechanical bottlenecks. Maintain rigorous documentation including design version control, O&M manuals, and commissioning reports to ensure compliance with local engineering codes and corporate standards.

• Lead mechanical design for automation systems, including high-speed sortation machines and conveyor systems
• Review and approve technical drawings, layouts, and specifications
• Prepare technical specifications for Request for Proposals and evaluate vendor bids
• Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing to ensure machinery meets performance benchmarks
• Drive project schedules and supervise on-site installation
• Lead Test & Commissioning phases, including Site Acceptance Testing
• Maintain rigorous project documentation and ensure compliance with safety regulations

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotic Engineering, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse automation, material handling, or industrial project engineering
• Expertise in AutoCAD or SolidWorks for layout and machine design
• Deep understanding of sortation technologies and fulfillment workflows
• Proven ability to manage multi-million dollar budgets and coordinate cross-functional teams

• Strong negotiation skills for dealing with global vendors
• Ability to present technical updates to senior stakeholders
• Experience with fulfillment workflows and industrial project engineering
