Safety & Security Specialist - IKEA Thailand

This role involves supporting management to ensure a safe and secure environment for customers and employees while protecting company assets and brand reputation. The position requires maintaining a strong risk-aware culture and ensuring compliance with both internal IKEA standards and external legal regulations. The specialist will oversee the Fire Command Centre operations and coordinate emergency responses to various crisis situations.

The role focuses on driving continuous improvement through audits, inspections, and risk assessments. The candidate will lead investigations into accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Additionally, the position involves managing contracted security teams, facilitating safety training programs, and monitoring performance metrics to enhance overall security standards.

• Implement IKEA Safety & Security standards to ensure a safe environment for co-workers, customers, and visitors
• Manage day-to-day operations of the Fire Command Centre and coordinate effective emergency responses
• Plan and conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to drive compliance with IKEA standards
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
• Prepare, maintain, and monitor emergency preparedness and crisis response plans
• Coordinate with Sec Check, insurance inspections, and regulatory audits to achieve security objectives
• Deliver and facilitate Safety & Security training, awareness programs, and drills
• Manage and develop the contracted security team to ensure competence and capability
• Monitor, analyze, and report Safety & Security performance metrics for continuous improvement

• Strong understanding of Safety & Security principles and relevant Thai laws and regulations
• Experience in Safety & Security, preferably within a retail or customer-focused environment
• Knowledge of security operations, fire prevention, emergency response, and workplace safety
• Familiarity with security systems including CCTV, intrusion alarms, access control, and fire protection systems
• Ability to monitor security service performance and collaborate with security providers
• Proactive and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and external authorities

• Experience in a fast-paced environment with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Background in retail operations or customer service
• Knowledge of crisis management and emergency planning
