About the position
The Category Development Marketer manages 3M’s full category portfolio and drives category growth through strategic marketing initiatives based on consumer insights and market trends. The role is responsible for category planning, assortment, pricing, promotions, portfolio health, innovation, and new product introductions.
The marketer works with supply chain, shopper marketing, sales, agencies, and consumer experience teams to support product availability, placement, effective messaging, and distribution. The position also analyzes category performance, consumer trends, and competitors to identify opportunities and align category plans with business and channel objectives. An MBA or PGDM specializing in marketing, or an equivalent qualification, is required.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement category marketing strategies based on consumer behavior insights and market trends
Lead category planning, assortment, pricing, promotional, and mix optimization
Collaborate with supply chain, shopper marketing, and sales on availability, placement, and category presence
Analyze category performance, consumer trends, and competitors to identify growth opportunities
Drive category innovation and new product introductions with a consumer-centric approach
Requirements
MBA/PGDM with specialization in Marketing or equivalent
Strong consumer insight orientation
Deep understanding of distribution channels
