LSEG is building a new Real-Time team in Bangkok to develop low-latency, high-throughput network-based solutions for the Elektron market data ecosystem. The Lead Software Engineer (C++) will design and implement C++ software modules, participate in code and design reviews, contribute to documentation, partner with QA, and mentor junior-to-mid level engineers as the team grows.
The role requires 3+ years of professional software development experience, strong C++ development in multi-threaded Linux environments, and hands-on network programming using sockets and TCP/IP. Candidates should have experience with Makefile/CMake, operating system concepts, and at least one real-time C++ project such as trading, packet filtering, or embedded systems. Strong English communication and ability to work partially in US hours are required.
Design and implement software modules in C++ including build system scripting, unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, software packaging and configuration management
Participate in code and design reviews
Contribute to product and internal documentation, technical specifications, software documentation and unit test plans
Assist in resolution of field problems as needed
Partner with QA and project owners/collaborators to deliver, support, and maintain products; mentor junior-to-mid level engineers
3+ years of professional software development experience
Experience developing in C++ in a multi-threaded environment
Strong experience with application or backend development on Linux, comfortable with Linux command lines and tools
Experience using Makefile and CMake build systems
Hands-on experience with network programming (sockets, TCP/IP, UDP, multicast) using platform APIs such as socket API
Experience developing on Windows
Experience with Rust, Go, C#, Python, or other system-programming languages
Comfort working with legacy C++98 code with modernization to C++11 onwards
Direct experience with Linux POSIX API (multi-threading, file system, I/O multiplexing, signal processing)
Exposure to market data in financial sector or investment/trading
