AI & Automation Team Lead

We are seeking a hands-on Team Lead to drive the discovery, design, and delivery of automation solutions within the Finance and FinTech sectors. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to improve data and workflow efficiency. You will own a major automation workstream, managing the full lifecycle from initial design through to production support and ongoing maintenance. As a Team Lead, you will remain actively involved in delivery while mentoring team members and ensuring solution quality.

You will leverage a diverse toolkit, including code, low-code platforms, APIs, workflow tools, RPA, and AI, to address complex business challenges. The focus is on practical, end-to-end solutions that enhance operational efficiency and accuracy. You will partner closely with Finance subject matter experts, data owners, and engineering teams to break down complex requirements and deliver measurable improvements in straight-through processing and operational risk.

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of automation solutions, including discovery, design, delivery, and ongoing maintenance for Finance and FinTech teams.
• Map complex process and data flows to identify pain points and recommend the most effective technical solutions.
• Design and develop production-grade automation components and reusable solutions.
• Support AI-enabled use cases such as data extraction, classification, workflow routing, and exception handling.
• Own testing, monitoring, controls, documentation, and production support to ensure reliability.
• Define success metrics and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and operational risk.
• Partner with Finance SMEs, data owners, and engineering teams to clarify requirements and ownership.
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical concepts clearly to all stakeholders.
• Review detailed solution designs and support team members to ensure high-quality delivery.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in automation, software engineering, data engineering, intelligent workflows, business analysis, or digital transformation.
• Proven track record of personally delivering production solutions from discovery through implementation and support.
• Strong programming experience in Python or a similar language.
• Experience designing solutions across data, applications, APIs, workflows, and business processes.
• Experience with testing, monitoring, exception handling, and production support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess business challenges and select the right solution approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead a workstream, clarify ownership, review solution quality, and support team members.
