About the position

As a key member of the Global Payroll team in Bangkok, you will be responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate processing of international payroll transactions. You will ensure strict compliance with local laws and regulations while managing monthly payroll activities for assigned countries. This role involves coordinating with external vendors to handle tax filings and statutory payments, as well as leading process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

You will collaborate closely with internal People teams and external partners to establish procedures for new systems and countries. Additionally, you will support payroll migration projects and vendor transitions, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. The role requires managing inquiries from stakeholders and participating in audits to maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly payroll activities, including collating and validating inputs, outputs, and statutory payments for assigned countries.
  • Coordinate with external payroll vendors to ensure timely and accurate payments and filings of taxes, social security funds, and provident funds.
  • Manage vendor relationships by adhering to contracts and SLAs while ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Handle inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding payroll matters and provide expert advice.
  • Support ad-hoc projects related to new process implementations and perform user testing on systems.
  • Lead and support payroll migration and integration initiatives, including vendor transitions and system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to set up processes and policies for new payroll systems or countries.
  • Support external and internal audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives for respective assigned countries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in People Operations or end-to-end Payroll within an international fast-paced organization.
  • Proven experience in managing APAC payroll.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex payroll migration and integration projects while ensuring operational continuity.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
  • Strong analytical, articulation, and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • Proven track record in process improvement and automation implementations.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience in Workday is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to operate effectively as a team player in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
  • Resilience to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and ethics.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Workday payroll system.
  • Strong project management skills for complex transitions.
  • Knowledge of multiple APAC jurisdictions and local regulations.
