Electrical Engineering Manager - Shopee

This role involves overseeing the electrical engineering lifecycle for Shopee Express facilities, ensuring the seamless integration of critical infrastructure. You will manage the procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of high-voltage and low-voltage systems, including transformers, switchgear, and substations. The position requires close collaboration with vendors and external engineering firms to maintain strict adherence to engineering standards and safety regulations. Additionally, you will lead a team of engineers and technicians, driving projects to completion on time and within budget while maintaining high operational quality.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of electrical projects, from initial design reviews and document evaluations to the final inspection of field installations. This includes supervising construction activities, expediting equipment delivery, and coordinating complex interactions between internal teams and external partners. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to optimizing both cost and timeline efficiency across all engineering operations.

• Supervise electrical engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, repair, and maintenance for Shopee Express facilities
• Manage the design of electrical components including HV/LV transformers, switchgear, substations, MCC, VFD, cabling, lighting, tracing, and PLC systems
• Review and critique proposed changes against engineering standards, policies, and technical details
• Evaluate company and third-party engineering documents such as MTO electrical, load lists, cable lists, and electrical key one lines
• Support the tendering process by estimating budgets and evaluating vendor quotations and specifications
• Coordinate and supervise construction and commissioning activities performed by vendors and sub-contractors
• Conduct expediting and inspection of electrical equipment and field-installation services
• Liaise between project teams, vendors, and external engineering companies to ensure clear communication
• Lead and supervise engineers and technicians to ensure efficient task accomplishment
• Control projects based on cost, timeline, and quality metrics

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in similar industries, with at least partial experience in an international setting
• Deep knowledge of local EIT regulations and international legal standards regarding electrical engineering
• Proficiency in engineering software including AutoCAD and EPLAN
• Comprehensive understanding of process control systems and HMI/SCADA platforms
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
