Lead Software Engineer (Time Series)

Lead Software Engineer role within LSEG's Time Series team based in Bangkok. The position involves leading technical solutions and design within an agile team, translating business and technical requirements into detailed design specifications, developing and integrating application code, and ensuring quality through automated tests and code reviews. The role also includes mentoring junior staff, collaborating with product owners, and driving continuous improvements in operational efficiency.

Candidates need a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 8+ years of experience in software architecture design and development. Required expertise includes Java, Python and/or JavaScript, distributed systems, cloud technologies, SQL and databases, agile methodologies, and secure coding practices. Experience with TDD/BDD and emerging technologies such as AI is advantageous.

Engage with product owners, architects and technical specialists to translate business and technical requirements into detailed design specifications

Develop and integrate application code and modules per written specifications

Build and maintain efficient, reusable, reliable and secure code based on user requirements

Participate in agile refinement and planning sessions, providing design options and complexity estimates

Conduct code reviews with junior staff and drive continuous improvements in operational efficiency

Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

8+ years of experience in software architecture design and development

Expert knowledge of Java, Python and/or JavaScript, with experience in distributed systems and cloud technologies

Proficiency in SQL and databases, design patterns, unit testing, and secure coding

Practical experience with agile methodologies and tools such as Scrum and JIRA, fluent in English
