Senior Legal & Compliance and Data Privacy Counsel - L'Oreal

This role serves as a strategic legal advisor for L'Oréal's operations in Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia, overseeing legal, compliance, and data privacy governance for 19 iconic brands. The position involves partnering with business units to navigate complex commercial and digital regulations while leading the Data Privacy Chapter to ensure robust compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and Group standards. The role requires drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial, digital, and IT agreements, serving as the Compliance Lead for AI governance and cybersecurity initiatives, and translating intricate legal frameworks into actionable business solutions for diverse stakeholders.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Thailand Legal Director and functionally to the SAPMENA Zone DPO, requiring a high level of autonomy and strategic influence. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Bangkok that offers significant responsibility from day one, allowing the individual to drive impactful legal strategies within a global leader in the beauty industry. • Provide strategic legal advisory to business units to mitigate risks across commercial, consumer, and digital laws.
• Lead the Data Privacy Chapter to ensure robust compliance with PDPA and Group data privacy standards.
• Draft and negotiate complex commercial, digital, and IT agreements.
• Serve as Compliance Lead for AI governance and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Translate complex legal issues into practical business solutions for stakeholders.

• Hold an LLB or LLM degree with an active Thai practicing certificate.
• Demonstrate proven expertise in data privacy program management and digital regulations.
• Possess full fluency in both Thai and English languages.
• Exhibit a collaborative approach to legal partnership and business problem-solving.

• Experience with cross-border data transfers and international compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of the beauty industry or consumer goods sector.
