Strategy & Business Design Manager - Deloitte

You will lead strategy consulting projects for Japanese financial institutions across Southeast Asia, a rapidly growing economic region. Your role involves designing mid-to-long-term strategies, supporting new market entries, and developing innovative business models. You will manage mixed teams of local and Japanese staff, driving project execution and client development. This position requires a strategic mindset to navigate diverse market challenges and deliver sustainable growth solutions for clients.

• Lead strategy formulation and implementation projects for Japanese financial institutions in Southeast Asia
• Design mid-term strategies and support new market entry concepts
• Develop new business models and product concepts based on customer data analysis
• Conduct market and customer trend research to inform strategic decisions
• Manage mixed teams of local and Japanese staff to deliver high-quality results
• Lead proposal activities to secure new client projects
• Collaborate with stakeholders to build productive relationships and networks
• Mentor diverse teams and foster a culture of inclusion and respect

• Proven experience in a consulting firm working on strategy topics for financial institutions (banking, securities, or insurance)
• Demonstrated track record of contributing to project securing through proposal activities
• Experience leading projects and managing client relationships
• Native level proficiency in Japanese and business level proficiency in English, OR native level proficiency in English and business level proficiency in Japanese
• In-depth consulting experience in a specific industry such as technology, consumer goods, or manufacturing
• Previous consulting experience related to Southeast Asia markets

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to energize teams and inspire self-belief
• Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English
• Ability to understand and lead execution of key objectives for internal and external stakeholders
• Experience with SDGs strategy and international rule formation
• Knowledge of disruptive trends and competitor activity in the financial sector
