A&H Underwriter

The A&H Underwriter supports AIG’s Accident & Health underwriting activities in Bangkok. The role underwrites new business within delegated authority, directs referrals to regional or home-office teams, manages policy delivery and product setup, and coordinates portfolio reporting, claims analysis, and internal and external underwriting audits.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, actuarial science, accounting, finance, or a related field. The posting requires solid underwriting and insurance-industry knowledge, relevant experience as an underwriter or production underwriter, technical and analytical skills, strong English proficiency, attention to detail, negotiation and interpersonal skills, leadership ability, and experience in a profit-centre environment at a mid-size to large multinational company.

• Underwrite new business and approve cases within assigned authority and established standards.
• Direct submissions beyond delegated authority to regional or home-office underwriting teams.
• Manage policy delivery, product setup, reinsurance arrangements, and reporting requirements.
• Review product-line portfolios and support profitability, loss-ratio management, and business cases.
• Liaise with claims, finance, business, and distribution teams and coordinate underwriting audits.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, actuarial science, accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of underwriting practices and insurance-industry theories.
• Experience as an underwriter or production underwriter, preferably in Accident & Health.
• Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Experience in a profit-centre environment at a mid-size to large multinational company, with team leadership ability.
