Staff Software Engineer - Back End - Agoda

Agoda's Platform team seeks developers for mission-critical systems serving millions of users. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining platforms and data pipelines. Think and own the full life cycle of products from business requirements to CI/CD and monitoring

Design, develop, and maintain platforms and data pipelines

Build stable, scalable, and highly performant systems

Write great code and mentor others

Foster cross-functional collaboration with diverse teams

8+ years of experience developing performance-critical applications in production using Scala, Java, Kotlin or relevant modern programming languages

Strong RDBMS knowledge (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or other)

Ability to direct significant company-wide projects and set technical vision

Good command of the English language

Deeply involved in making architectural decisions and setting team direction

Implement advanced CI/CD pipelines and robust testing strategies

Passion for software development and continuous improvement

Knowledge in NoSQL, Queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, MSMQ), and Play framework
