Database Administrator (Fixed-term contract)

Sertis, an ASEAN data and AI engineering company based in Bangkok, is hiring a Database Administrator on a fixed-term contract to support client database environments. The role involves designing, implementing, and operating secure, high-performing, and highly available database systems in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.

Candidates need at least three years of IT experience with hands-on DBA work on Oracle or DB2 on Unix/Linux, plus knowledge of replication, high-availability solutions, performance tuning, and IT infrastructure. The posting notes that Thai nationals only may apply.

Design and planning: Work with development teams on database design, server sizing, capacity planning, and performance testing.

Implementation: Build and configure database servers across storage, operating system, and database layers.

Operations: Manage installation, configuration, backup and recovery, replication, and day-to-day monitoring.

Performance tuning: Find and fix performance bottlenecks to keep systems running well.

Security, monitoring, capacity management, and documentation: Apply database security controls, track and resolve incidents, recommend capacity improvements, and maintain DBA standards and procedures.

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

At least 3 years of IT experience with hands-on DBA experience in Oracle or DB2 on Unix/Linux.

Experience with database monitoring, diagnostic, and performance tuning tools.

Experience with replication and high-availability solutions such as Oracle Data Guard, DB2 HADR, or third-party tools.

Experience with maintaining Oracle Exadata and information lifecycle management tools; knowledge of OS, storage, network, or security; strong communication and self-motivation.
