Transmission Line Design Engineer (PLS-CADD)

AFRY is seeking a Transmission Line Design Engineer to support overhead transmission-line design and engineering for utility and renewable-energy projects in domestic and international markets. The role covers projects from concept through detailed engineering and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Core duties include developing PLS-CADD designs, performing line routing and profile development, preparing plan and profile drawings, calculating sag and tension, and optimizing conductor clearances. The engineer will analyze geometry, prepare construction and design documentation, coordinate with specialist engineering teams, review constructability and standards compliance, support quality assurance, and help resolve technical issues.

• Develop overhead transmission line designs using PLS-CADD.
• Perform line routing, profile development, and plan and profile drawing preparation.
• Conduct sag-tension calculations and optimize conductor clearances.
• Analyze line geometry based on terrain, environmental constraints, and regulatory requirements.
• Generate construction staking reports, material quantities, design documentation, and technical support for detailed engineering and construction.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5-15 years of experience in overhead transmission line engineering.
• Hands-on experience using PLS-CADD for transmission line design.
• Experience with projects from 69 kV to 500 kV or applicable voltage levels.
• Strong understanding of transmission line engineering principles, analytical and problem-solving skills, and English communication skills.
